Local League Rules
ATA will follow USTA and USTA Texas Regulations. In addition Abilene tennis players participating in Adult Leagues are required to follow Local League rules.

Local Registration Fee $ 40.00 plus TennisLink Fee |
40&Over – 1 singles and 3 doubles
– minimum 9 players –
Sectionals will be be 1 singles and 3 doubles
Nationals will be 1 singles and 4 doubles

USTA League MAJOR REGULATION CHANGES FOR 2025
1. 2.01C(4)a: The USTA Section Association has the option of filing a grievance if a full team retirement or combination of defaults occurs. If the grievance is upheld, the match may be declared invalid and shall be scored following the local/sectional regulations. The Section and below may impose further penalties on the defaulting and/or retiring team. Such penalties must follow the League Suspension System. (See Regulation 3.03A(7) and 3.03D(4).

All players must register individually for Sectionals – using the MatchTennis App – There will be more information and webinars for MatchTennis App.
It is the Captain’s responsibility to ensure all players are registered by the deadline both locally and for Sectionals.
There is a minimum roster deadline for Sectionals – this is also T-shirt deadline for Sectionals.
Reminders
All players must register locally before the deadlines.
Deadline to request team # – there will be a $ 100 fee to request a team number after this deadline. (This does not apply to
non-competing teams)
Deadline for Completing Teams – only non-competing teams can be added after this deadline.
Self Rated Players must play 3 matches.
Penalty if pulling out of Sectionals within 14 days of the scheduled start or withdraws, or fails to complete matches.
USTA League Suspension Point System
The USTA Suspension Point System applies to sanctioned tournaments. It doesn’t apply to a Net Generation Program that uses red, orange, or green ball tennis unless authorized by the Sectional Association that sanctioned the tournament.
The USTA Suspension Point System applies to conduct during all matches (main draw, compass draw, consolation, qualifying, and doubles); during tournament activities; at tournament facilities; and at facilities, such as hotels, dormitories, and homes where players stay.
