2025 ATA Scholarships

The Abilene Tennis Association (ATA) provides scholarship opportunities to local graduating seniors. 

Applications will not be accepted unless completed in full and submitted by April 1, 2025.  These forms must be signed by the applicant and parent/guardian.

Kyle Williams-Sharon Wartes Tennis Scholarship

Sharon Wartes worked as a tennis coach in AISD for fifteen years. Her love for tennis was evident through her years of coaching student athletes in AISD and participation in USTA. 

Kyle Williams was an avid tennis fan staying very involved with Abilene tennis operations & events; even attending Wimbledon and the U.S. Open on many occasions.

ATA honors both of these incredible women and their contributions to tennis by presenting this scholarship opportunity each year.

The Abilene Tennis Association is seeking a JTT Area League Coordinator and is accepting proposals to find a qualified individual who will coordinate junior tennis play in the Abilene area.  

Our goals are to:

  1. Promote and support ATA JuniorAdult Tennis through social tennis activities, city and country club leagues, and USTA leagues;
  2. Grow the number of junior participants in USTA leagues’
  3. Develop positive working partnerships/relationships with all area tennis facilities, area coaches and tennis professionals, collaborating with them to enhance and schedule tennis opportunities for all adults.
