Fed Cup coming to San Antonio in April.  Some of the nation’s top women’s tennis players are expected to come to San Antonio as the city hosts a Fed Cup matchup between the United States and Switzerland on April 20-21 at the Freeman Coliseum.  The equivalent of the Davis Cup in men’s tennis, the Fed Cup is the largest annual international team competition in women’s sport. During the past two years, the United States team has included world No. 10 Serena Williams, No. 37 Venus Williams, No. 4 Sloane Stephens, No. 17 Madison Keys and No. 25 Danielle Collins.  Teams will name their players at least 10 days before the event.  The competition in San Antonio will be a best-of-five match series across two days. The top two players from each team will face each other on the opening day of competition, then will switch opponents for singles matches the second day. A doubles match closes the competition.
