04/27/2020 – Governor Abbott announced during his press conference today the beginnings of reopening for outdoor sports 05/01/2020.
Specifically, tennis was mentioned and is applicable to the following restrictions located on this excerpt under GA-18’s “Minimum Standard Health Protocols: Checklist for Outdoor Sports Participants”. ATA is excited to share this news as the beloved sport of tennis is regaining some normalcy.
ATA will keep you updated on how the city officials plan on rolling out official openings & safety procedures.

- Monday night Women’s league at Rose Park Tennis Center.
- Tuesday night Women’s league at Abilene Country Club at 6:30pm. Call ACC tennis shop at 325-692-2583 to sign-up. Open to non-members.
- Tuesday night Men’s league at Rose Park Tennis Center.
- Come play Pickleball at Abilene Country Club.
USTA Championship Masters and Texas Slam Section Championships held here in Abilene June 8 through June 16, 2019 was a huge success. More than 1,000 of the best junior tennis players in Texas came to Abilene to play.
