Texas Slam - Volunteers Needed

The ATA is hosting the Texas Junior Slam June 9-16.  This is Abilene's second year to host this tournament (which happens to be the largest tournament in the nation!).  Last year, 1,150 youth, ages 10 – 18 years old from all over the state, came to Abilene for this event that was hosted by the Abilene Tennis Association, the Abilene Chamber and Visitors Bureau, and United States Tennis Association. More than $1.3 million dollars was pumped into our Abilene economy in 7 days!  It takes a lot of people to make this event happen successfully and we need YOU to be a part!

 Would you consider helping with:

  • Registering players at Rose Park?
  • Working to sell fan gear at numerous tournament sites around town?
  • Delivering supplies daily to each tennis site (We are using every court in town to include Middle and High School courts)

You can volunteer for a couple of hours a day or work the whole tournament!  You’ll receive a free t-shirt and the chance to see some incredible tennis matches.  In fact, many of the young men and women you’ll see playing will be collegiate athletes and possibly play the pro circuit.

Please email me with questions: skcintx@hotmail.com or call/text me: 325-513-7233.  (If you have already responded to a previous email from me regarding volunteering, you don’t need to respond again.  I’ll contact you and others with a volunteer schedule as we approach the date)

I’m looking forward to volunteering with you! - Susan Clark, Texas Slam Volunteer Committee Chair
